Catalysts perform the core function of providing business guidance and take a key role as part of the innovation team for each of the four tracks and may extend beyond the end of the award period.

At a minimum, Catalysts are expected to participate in at least four invitation-only meetings or other volunteer opportunities at various points during the award period.

All Catalysts are invited to the following:

1. Catalyst event (date to be coordinated with Venture Competition Semi-Finalists announcement);
2. Mid-term and final reviews for Venture Selectees awards;
3. Mid-term presentations for the Portugal Innovation - Teams class;
4. Portugal Innovation Showcase presentation coaching;

Some of these opportunities have limited space, but we expect self-selection based on areas of interest and expertise. In addition, Catalysts may be invited to participate in other engagement opportunities within the Catalyst program, such as:

1.Global Events Advisory Committee
2.Ad-hoc advisory role in a specific area of expertise / interest.

Additionally, as invitation-only events are developed with other MIT international partners, Catalysts will be encouraged to attend at least to one of the above events to foster a good and sound familiarization with the Selectee team and the project.
